Happy New Year to all! We hope you are happy and we hope you are well!
It was of course an unprecedented and very drawn out 2020 with sadly many suffering pain and loss. The world adjusted to a somewhat 'new normal' way of life, one which often revealed strength, resilience and determination. It was difficult to stay positive under such extreme circumstances and with all the doom and gloom of news headlines and the continuous updates.
However, through it all we were doggedly determined to carry on with our writing and to try, at least, to take our minds away from all the sad news and the dreaded covid 19 virus. It was a small positive in a seemingly negative year and we are so proud to have achieved what we did.
Happily after publishing Murder With The Gemstone Knife, we were thrilled to receive just before Christmas, another fine review from Marnie Harrison - Once Upon a Time Book Blog Review.
Not only did Marnie write a thorough review and offered some very astute observations, she took her time to voluntarily read our book and that is a great compliment to us. Reviews, whether good or bad offer encouragement to continue with the writing journey.
If it is a great review, one feels empowered and encouraged to continue and it can be very uplifting when we may have had some doubtful thoughts.
If a not so positive review is received, that is fine too as it should only spur you on more, to improve your writing skills and make corrections, it is not a sign to give up!
As coauthors we are always, always learning new things and try to help each other, offering ideas and suggestions we have heard about or read through blogs or writing groups. It has many obstacles and challenges writing as two and via long distance but receiving book reviews are the best source we have to judge how we are really doing. Luckily, so far we feel we are doing fine thanks to several comments and reviews we have received and we do appreciate all feedback from far and wide as it really does help.
